Late September Offer!

Working with wool - on the island of Skiathos.

We are offering a 7 day all-inclusive package with direct return flights from Birmingham airport, accommodation, meals and use of our fully equipped workshop.

Flights are from Birmingham airport with Jet2 on the 29th September returning on the 6th October 2024.

The ticket is for hand luggage only. It will be possible to add hold luggage for an extra fee if you wish, or you are welcome to use our washing machine and borrow beach towels.

Upon arrival, we will collect you from the airport, take you to your accommodation and then for a bite to eat.  

Your accommodation will be hosted by local shepherd, George Aivaliotis, and his family. George has been a supporter of our project from the very beginning - along with his sheep. 

During your stay you will have the use of our fully equipped workshop and all materials. Resident textile artist, Jean Wildish, will assist and encourage you to develop skills or try new skills working with native wool.

If you are a weaver, a felt maker, a spinner or even just want to try something new, we have it covered!

You may also wish to try your hand at weaving traditional Skiathos rug patterns on local yarn.

We will also introduce you to the culture and history of this popular island with visits to monasteries, museums, local points of interest and beautiful natural scenery.

Food and entertainment:

Breakfast.

We provide you with bottled drinking water for your own rooms where there are facilities for making your own breakfast. We will collect you at around 10am so you have plenty of time to do your own thing.

There is a bakery and supermarket close by and we are always on hand to help.

Lunch.

This is generally a working lunch, provided at our workshop. There will be sandwiches, fruit, salads, local baked goods and snacks. There is always a selection of hot and cold drinks available throughout the day.

Evening meal.

Skiathos is a culinary delight and we don't shy away from introducing you to locally prepared food.

We offer 4 inclusive evening meals as our guests at a local taverna or restaurant where we can discuss your interests and decide the following days activities.

The inclusive meals normally comprise shared plates and traditional mezes. You might also like to join us for a beer or share a jug of house wine. We have experience of keeping you safe if you have any food allergies or dietary requirements - just let us know.

Other activities:

We appreciate that you may also like to explore or go swimming on your own, so we are flexible and can accommodate most people's individual requirements. Our ethos is simply to give you the best experience here on Skiathos - working with wool and much more!

The cost:

The cost per person would be £1300 but if you can bring a friend and/or don't mind sharing a room, we can offer you a discount.

This is a limited time offer - dependant on availability of flights. If you are genuinely interested we urge you to act as soon as possible to secure your plane ticket and place on the project.

All we require is that you pay £500 deposit. This will secure your flights and accommodation in your name, we will then send confirmation and follow up with some more information and questions about your interests. You just need to get yourself to the airport!
